Summer has officially arrived, and Amapola Arts is excited to welcome a season filled with creativity, learning, connection, and community.
Rooted in Puerto Rican culture, Amapola Arts is a bilingual, family-run studio, gallery, and community space where people of all ages can learn, create, celebrate, and connect through the arts.
Whether you’re joining us for a class, camp, workshop, event, or community program, we’re grateful to have you as part of our creative community.

A free creative writing and mixed-media experience for students and young adults exploring voice, identity, and community.
🎨 Identity Design: Art, Media & Self-Expression
A three-week adult workshop exploring identity, culture, storytelling, and self-expression through art and media analysis.
🌿 Explora: Art & Story Camp
July 20–23
A four-day creative experience featuring painting, clay, photography, mixed media, and storytelling.

🏺 Pottery at Amapola Arts
Get your hands in the clay this summer.
Our pottery program includes:
• Family Pottery Hour
• Create-in-a-Day Pottery Workshops
• Beginner & Intermediate Pottery Series
• Pottery Open Studio
Students explore wheel throwing, handbuilding, glazing, and surface design while building technical skills, creative confidence, and community through clay.
🎨 Canvas Painting
Explore color, texture, and creative expression through acrylic painting, spray paint, and mixed-media techniques.
Offerings include:
• Family Canvas Painting Hour
• Create-in-a-Day Canvas Workshops
• Canvas Painting Open Studio
Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or continuing your artistic journey, there’s a place for you at Amapola.
📸 Photography
Photography is another way we tell stories and preserve moments.
Amapola Arts offers individualized photography instruction for teens and adults interested in learning:
• Camera Basics

• Studio Photography
• Visual Storytelling
We also continue to book professional photography services for weddings, quinceañeras, portraits, headshots, creative sessions, and community events.
🎓 Education & Community Programs
Our bilingual (English–Spanish) educational programs bring arts experiences into schools, community organizations, libraries, senior centers, and youth programs throughout Western New York.
Programs include:

Recent partners include The Belle Center, The Kenan Center, Erie 1 BOCES, and school districts across the region.
This month, we were honored to facilitate spoken-word workshops and a youth poetry slam at The Belle Center.
🌺 Amapola Restore
Presented in partnership with Buffalo Hope COMHPS and PARC of WNY, Amapola Restore is a free wellness series centered on healing, reflection, creativity, and community connection through artmaking.
Each month features a different theme and creative experience designed to support personal wellness and belonging.
