🌿 Exhibit in the Garden: Chapter 5 – Art Among the Flowers

Join us for our 5th Annual outdoor art exhibition held in our home garden as part of the Ken-Ton Garden Tour.

For one day each year, our garden transforms into an open-air gallery filled with original artwork, flowers, conversation, creativity, and community. Browse artwork by Amapola Arts and enjoy the beauty of the garden.

Celebrate Christmas in July, Puerto Rican style!

Join us for the opening of Resilience, a community art exhibit and artisan market featuring Amapola Arts and studio artists. Enjoy interactive art activities, music, conversation, and a festive gathering inspired by the warmth and joy of the holiday season.

Hosted as part of Highland Plaza's Christmas in July festivities.

Identity Design: Art, Media & Self-Expression

Featuring Amanda Wenner (PARC)

​Ages 21+ | 3-Week Series | $95

Join guest artist Amanda Wenner of PARC for a creative exploration of identity, culture, media, and self-expression.

Through guided discussion, creative exercises, and hands-on artmaking, participants will examine how personal experiences, culture, and popular media shape the way we see ourselves and others. Together, we'll explore character design as a powerful tool for storytelling, self-discovery, and authentic expression.

Participants Will:

β€’ Explore identity through art and creative reflection
β€’ Examine representation, archetypes, and stereotypes in media
β€’ Reimagine familiar characters from new perspectives
β€’ Create an original character that reflects their most authentic self
β€’ Develop tools for continued creative and personal growth

No prior drawing experience is required. All materials are included.


🎭 SUMMER CAMPS

🌺 Explora: Art & Story Camp (Ages 7–12)

July 20–23 | 9:00 AM–12:00 PM

A four-day creative experience where young artists explore painting, clay, photography, mixed media, and storytelling through hands-on artmaking.

Camp Highlights

🌿 Explora: Art & Story Studio Intensive (Ages 13–17)

July 20–23 | 1:00 PM–4:00 PM

Designed for teens ready to deepen their artistic practice, this four-day intensive combines visual arts and creative writing while encouraging experimentation, reflection, and artistic growth.

Camp Highlights

-Painting, clay, photography, and mixed media

🌺 Amapola Restore: Identity & Belonging

Free Community Wellness Program

Presented in partnership with Buffalo Urban League's C.O.M.H.P.S. Program, this creative wellness experience invites youth and young adults to explore identity through creative writing and mixed-media artmaking in a supportive community environment.

Together, we create space for reflection, self-expression, healing, and belonging through the arts.

Looking for dedicated studio time to continue creating? Open Studio offers flexible access for returning students and experienced artists in a supportive creative environment.

Pass Options

β€’ Single Session β€” $35
β€’ 5 Sessions β€” $165 (valid for 3 months)
β€’ 10 Sessions β€” $300 (valid for 6 months)

Open Studio is intended for returning students and individuals with prior pottery or painting experience. New participants without previous Amapola Arts experience must complete a brief studio orientation before attending.


🀝 COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT

🎨 Our Belle, Our Story

This summer, Amapola Arts is partnering with The Belle Center to engage youth in designing and creating a community mural celebrating the people, experiences, and stories that make the Belle Center special.

Through hands-on workshops and field trips to Amapola Arts, participants will explore storytelling, visual arts, and community identity while creating a permanent mural that reflects their voices, creativity, and sense of belonging.

We are honored to continue our partnership with The Belle Center and support young people in sharing their stories through art.


🌎 COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP SPOTLIGHT

🌾 The Story of El Jíbaro

Amapola Arts is proud to host Week Two of the first-ever Los Artistas del Barrio Buffalo Summer Enrichment Experience.

Participants ages 10–16 will explore Puerto Rican culture through dance, music, theater, storytelling, writing, and visual arts while creating original works inspired by their own identities and experiences.
